I'm wondering if criminal charges that never lead to a conviction (3 charges in total) can cause a green card holder to get deported? Also, when a person applies to renew a green card after it expired will another FBI fingerprint check be done?

If you were never convicted, you should not have any problems. Because remember, you are innocent until proven guilty ( which means conviction) and being charged is not an offense by itself. You might face some problems at POE because your finger prints might show up due to arrest record, but if you have court documents showing you were acquited or police documents showing that your charges were dropped, you should be OK.

i think you needed two light sources for this, one coming in from the left to lessen or remove the shadows. Some more DOF? Yes and No depends on what you're after. If your 485 is denied, all derivative benefits like EAD/AP are also lost. You therefore can't use EAD for another job even if 6 months have elapsed.

See it does not matter who files, out of state or local. Main thing is if an RFE comes, will your company be willing to give him all details.............. you have to understand, with new attorney it is just you who is filing at the moment, so for just one case will the company give all his financial details (if asked for).

My in-laws attended visitor visa interview at Hyderabad Consulate on 25th Feb. My mother-in-law (not working) got her visa (no questions asked) but father-in-law (an electrical engg manager, still working for central govt) was asked to fill out a questionnaire related to his professional experience and then given a white slip with a case number/email address and asked to email his resume/CV for further processing. He was told it would take 7 days to process his application.
I tried searching for similar cases on various forums and found some cases but couldn't find information on how long they took to approve the visa. So I was just wondering if anybody here has any further updates on such cases. Appreciate any feedback.

My employer sent the documents for my H1b extension today to USCIS and they applied it through premium process, can anyone please let me know how many days it will take to get the Receipt notice both in Email and hardcopy?
My H1b expires on Dec 15th 2010 and if I wont get my receipt notice by than can I stay in US legally or should I have to leave US?
Please let me know your suggestion.

You will get the acknowledgment within 3 to 4 days of receipt.
If you do not get receipt, then you are out of status and will have to leave the country. But don't worry you will have the receipt before Dec 15. BTW which center did you apply to?

The whole GC process is based on future employment which your employer undertook to give you on your getting GC. If your employer (who let you go) is still committed to that, you are fine, but that is unlikely. Best is just do nothing until 180 days pass, except finding another employer (no problem if you are unemployed in between) who is prepared to offer you same/similar job. Once 180+ days pass, you are ok provided your I-140 was already approved or is approvable. You may want to read bulletins on the subject USCIS has issued time to time.

ur 485 approval will depend on ur PD...and until Oct 2007 all VISAS are unavailable...so atleast till Oct 2007 ur 485 will not be approved...

One year for my labor had not elapsed and I had no other way to get the 8thyr extension so my attorney applied for the premium processing, it was applied on 16th and got it approved by 27th of June. If your labor has met the 1yr req. you could always apply for the 1yr extn, don't see why you won't be able to use the 1yr labor rule..hope this helps,

The risk is that you do not know which petition will be approved first. According to the "last action rules" principle, the last petition to be approved will be your wife's status. For instance, if the H4 petition is approved last she may need to file a change of status to be in H1 or alternatively travel out and re-enter with the desired visa, and vice-versa.

Once a I140 is filed without the I485 one has to wait for I140 approval before being eigible for filing I485

Why do you need a signature from anyone in your company (or ex-company) on your 485. I-485 is your application and your employer has nothing to do with filing it.
