Back in '84 the recording choices were Beta or VHS...
That would be the source, unfortunately.... ;)
I guess is someone had a Beta Hi-Fi copy on a High Grade Tape with great reception, then you can capture it but need to use some sort of TBC with it.

Anyone going on Friday intend to tweet the line size and such? That'll help me determine if I head down Friday night or Saturday :)
I can post on Twitter as well as this page about the line and such. I plan to go to the store Thursday night around 8:00 PM. If there is no line I'll hang until closing time and if there is no line then I'll show up early in the morning, maybe 4 or 4:15.
You think they will restock on Saturday?
I bet they get multiple shipments Friday and Saturday. Their big problem last year was not enough stock, I don't think they will make the same mistake.

I have absolutely no idea.
I can think of a few 'tars that have been a bit risque (the cat avatar), a few odd ones (freaky tadpole anyone?), but not one stands out.
Give us a hint. ;)

As has already been said, you are positioned wrongly relative to your iMac. Have you read page 69 of the User Manual that came with your machine?
didn't get a user manual!
Checked online and found the section you are referring to, set it up as stated so i'll try that for a few days ...thanks

OWC here as well, specifically the mercury elite al-pro (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firewire/1394/USB/EliteAL/eSATA_FW800_FW400_USB) models.
I use these too. I had one fail but it was replaced.
Then buy a Seagate drive. These have a 5 year warranty. For a disk drive 5 years is as good as "lifetime" Other brands are only 3 year. Check before you buy as there are odd exceptions,
You will need to buy four. One for data, one for a time machine backup and on for a rotating "ping pong" remote backup. What I do is buy a new drive about every year and retire the oldest drive. I always buy the largest size available so that after 4 or so years it is a usable size. You really have to get into a rotation and retirement plan in order to keep the data and the backup copies reliable

Thanks for the link!
I took it to an Apple store today and they diagnosed it as the graphics card failure. They are replacing the MLB for free (would be a $863 repair otherwise..ouch.)
Knightrider, I suggest you do the same thing! It was a pretty quick diagnosis and I should have it back within 3-5 days.
Yup I literally took it to the Apple store immediately after I posted last and it was the logic board. It was two months out of warranty, but they are doing it for free anyway.
Four days later, the status finally went from "Pending - Preparing to Ship" to "On Hold - Part on Order". Have you received yours back, yet?

Decide the minimum YOU are willing to part with it for.
Set that as the minimum bid, no reserve. The market will decide how much it is worth. Maybe pick a "pie in the sky" (yet possible) Buy-it-now price.
For example, if I was selling my Macintosh 128K (which I'm NOT, you can't have it even AFTER prying it from my cold dead hands,) I would put it on with a minimum bid of $250 (what I paid for it,) and a Buy-It-Now of $1000.
Ridiculously high starting bids cut down on the early bidders; and reserves cut down on the mid-term bidders. When you cut down on bidders at all, you cut down the maximum price. (For all but the ultra-rarest of items, where it'll go for insane amounts no matter what price you put, like an Apple I.)

Not sure what he's talking about with duplicates, and yeah like the other guy said, you should be able to get any album art that you might lose. I think you're good to go.

It's not greed. They make a good product that people want and are willing to pay for.
Is it greed because my client list has an addendum that is a waiting-to-be-my-client list? I'm good at what I do, people want what I do and they're willing to pay me at my current rate. ....
No kidding, that line is always so long. But, when did McDonald's stop calling them customers and start calling them clients? Smart move, either way.

So if you take a photo at 1/8th of a second, then take another photo at 1/200 seconds but change nothing else, the two photos look the same?

Yeah, I know, it's an old game. However, I still like it and play it. So I just wanted to know if I could install the game on a new iMac and that it would run properly. I know the requirements are more then sufficient for the game, but I heard something about it not running for some reason...I might probably be wrong but I just wanted to know for sure. Also, my disk for the game is the very first version, 1.0. But with the patches I guess it doesn't really matter.

I was a freshman in high school. I was just getting off the bus in the morning when i heard these exact words on the radio "...oh my god! A second plane has just hit the second world trade center building"
i kinda walked on into class in shock until 1st period started. The teacher had the tv on when we came in. We watched the first and the second towers fall. We watched the people running from the cloud of dust and debris be overtaken by it. Thats about all we did that day.
I didn't know anyone from New York so i wasn't personally affected. I offer my condolences to those of you who did lose someone.

Jag never shipped on DVD-ROMs, unless they are the system restore discs, and even then I believe it was CDs.
Nope it did. I have a copy of it in my hands right now. Panther I believe was when they began shipping on DVD's mainly (and of course on to Tiger...).

Mods, please lock this thread. I received correspondence from Apple and have resolved the issue, but as it is under NDA I can not share that information. Thanks for your understanding.
I'll leave it open in case others wish to discuss this or similar issues.

As Apple's market share increases, so will the fury of competitors, legislators, hackers and open source advocates alike.
OS X is already cracking open (see for example http://semthex.freeflux.net/), and it is now possible to run OS/X with very few glitches on any super-fast (if ugly) Dell machine or any other $300 x86 clone.
Likewise, DRM is beginning to leak.
I am curious to see for how long Apple will be able to safeguard its monopolies. Restricting its content (OS/X, music, video, etc.) to run only on its own hardware platform is a GREAT idea in principle, but I have serious doubts that it is technically VIABLE in the long term.
This may turn out to be for Apple the greatest cost of its transition from PowerPC to Intel.
