I guess they wanted to inconvenience them millions of subscribers just to delay the small minority of AT&T customers willing to jump ship

A semi-epitaph post. I picked up Metal Slug Anthology for the Wii on Friday and have pretty much not stopped playing. Just about as addictive as hell. I mean I've heard of the series and played the GBA game (eww) but I was not expecting it to be this damn fun! It's totally up my street. Co-op, stunning pixel art, silly, gameplay to perhaps even rival classic Mario games.
Anyone else got this? 7 near perfect games. I didn't even mind paying Gamestation's ludicrous 39.99.
When is 3D going to look as good as this?

Hey, can anyone give any recommendations on a Bluetooth mouse? Can I use a Bluetooth mouse for both a Mac and PC? What is the distance you can use a mouse? Anybody know of any future products coming out that use Bluetooth?

thanks, hex monkey, for the link! strangely (or perhaps not so strangely?!), when you download and use wtpro, they explicitly state that it is *not* free software and that it must be registered within 30 days...no mention of free functionality...alas...

Keep in mind that Mr. Eaton is a professional. He shoots with a full frame camera that yields large file size images. Think about what you are going to be doing with photography before you jump into all this. The setup you are thinking of buying - the Mac Pro - is easily expandable. If you start with two drives, you still have room for two more. I have a MBP that came with a 250Gb drive. That was good for a year before I upgraded it to a 500 Gb one. The old drive is in an external enclosure and serves as a photo backup of my Aperture file vault. I have a 1TB external drive for Time Machine, and that backs up everything on my system. This is my hobby and I probably shoot around 200 images in an average month, more during good weather. I have a Canon XSi and will move to a 7D in a year or so.
Just my 2k worth.
Edit: My advice is to not configure your setup as an end all right out of the gate. Storage technology is rapidly evolving, and what you dump all that money on may be obsolete in two years. Thunder Bolt will lead to fiber optics being standard and solid state drives will replace disc drives before you know it.
Dale
Thanks Dale. I did not know Mr. Eaton is a professional, but he has a point about storage space. I am thinking about a 500 GB-750 GB HDD for photos and scratch disc. I have a point and shoot camera right now. I mess around with the provided software. I am an entry level photographer. :)
My modified original plan is for a Mac Pro:
1. 120 SSD for my boot drive, including OS and software: bay 1
2. 320 GB- 500 GB to backup the boot drive: bay 2.
3. 500 GB-750GB drive for photo storage and scratch disc: bay 3
4. the OEM 1 TB to backup the photo/scratch disc drive: bay 4.
So bay 2 and 4 are backup drives, while bay 1 and 3 are productivity drives.
I did not factor in any type of RAID or an external storage drive(s.) I learned that OS X has striping or a generic RAID built into the OS, which is beneficial for many people.
Another question, SR20DETDOG stated I do not need a 7200 rpm drive for storage and that makes sense, but if I am using the drive as storage and scratch disc, then should I buy a 7200 rpm drive?
I am neither belittling SR20DETDOG nor questioning his or her logic, but I think about getting more use from one drive is economical. Plus, I have posted my backup plan, so folks can view my intentions.
I am pricing drives and I am disappointed that 250 GB-320 GB drives cost more or is equal to a 500 Gb drive. Again the 500 GB drives are priced within a $10.00 USD price range of a 750 GB drive. I though 250 GB and 320 GB drives would be cheaper, but what do I know?

Hi. I need some help with a malfunctioning color stylewriter 2500. Whenever I try to make a test page, it just passes through the printer without printing anything. I've already replaced the ink cartridges. Any ideas?

It's funny to hear people complain about their 3GS is on their last leg, etc.
My wife still has the original Iphone (not even 3G), while I have the Iphone4.
She was waiting on the Iphone4 (White), and continued to wait, and now we're so close to the Iphone5, she's in another dilemma.
Buy the Iphone 4 (White), or hope that the 2G Iphone makes it to the release of the Iphone 5?
I think I'm going to get her the Iphone 4 (dramatic improvement over the 2g, obviously). Then we will worry about getting her the latest phone at that time (since no one knows when it's arriving).
Either way, my wife is still rocking the original Iphone, and belive me 3GS owners, your phone is worlds ahead of hers.

I do like otterbox, but I don't like the defender series - prefer the commuter. ANyway I've pre-ordered an invisibleshied with a coupon for $14.99 from zagg but now debating also getting a case =( hmm I really wanted to keep it as slim as possible.

Hi Guys,
A mac mini (2 months old) connected to a GOOD UPS is now rebooting on it's own 3-4 times a day.
There are log files generated for these events but are too detailed for my understanding.
Is there a simple event viewer (like MS eventvwr.msc) that can show me failed services, failed operations, etc., so I can try and track down what the heck is going on?
Any help would be appreciated.

Not in front of my computer right now, but somewhere in iTunes Preferences, either in "General" or "Devices," there is a setting for preventing automatic backups. That should allow you to skip the backup, which seems to be what is keeping your upgrade from completing. Ideally, of course, we should try to figure out what is hanging your backups, but unfortunately, I'm out of ideas about how to fix that.

So far (in the press area) I can see two iPhones and 1 iPad being conspicuously used. How many can you see?
And the harder spot - can you see any Android devices!!!
I don't really care how many iPhone's there are in that picture. But what I can say.. Is that picture is amazing.

Thanks for the review. Did you consider the similar case by Case Crown. It looks a lot like the Candy Convertible, but less expensive.

Recommending a particular mic for a singer is fraught with risk, as the human singing voice contains way too many variables to make this a simple choice. There is no guarantee a mic will be "the best" just because it's expensive or was used in some classic recordings. What's best for me probably won't be best for you, there's only one way to be sure and that's try a variety and see. Some find a cheap dynamic mic better for them than an expensive condenser.
If you're trying to avoid buying an audio interface by going usb, I wouldn't be heading straight for the top end of the market in microphones.

Microsoft has to worry about bigger things than getting their OS to run on macs, how about getting their OS to run on a PC (IE: Vista).
Microsoft was late to the plate and I wouldn't be suprised if they just bought out a company to get back in the competition.
take it easy on them, they saved apple's ass in the 90's. if it weren't for them apple would have gone 'rupt. they also have to worry about a thousand different hardware configurations whereas os x 10 has to worry about the mac line.. give 'em a break. (not an ms fanboy)
