Actually, I have been looking for a new monitor and was really hoping that the ACDs would be updated. At the very least, their price is almost twice that of a similar display from practically everyone else. Granted, they have a nicer design, but a 6ms refresh time is pretty slow these days.
Hardly. The panel is a S-IPS LG.Philips LM230W02 (for the 23"). This is probably the very best panel you can buy anywhere for a 23/24". The displays you are talking about aren't similar displays at all - they are inferior PVA or TN types. Hence, the price. Faster response times (for gamers) don't appear in S-IPS panels - only in cheaper TN types.
A comparable display is the NEC LCD2490WUXi which you won't find for under about $1100. The ACD 23" is in fact for the quality of the display good value. The main problem with it is the lack of inputs and the 1 year-guarantee.
The only change that Apple could make to the 23" is to things like the inputs (which personally I would like to see) because there is no better panel. Of course they could change to a 24" but this is not a better panel. Just a slightly larger one.
One legit worry is if you buy the 23" now, and Apple changes to a 24" then buying a second panel will be a problem.

Recommending a particular mic for a singer is fraught with risk, as the human singing voice contains way too many variables to make this a simple choice. There is no guarantee a mic will be "the best" just because it's expensive or was used in some classic recordings. What's best for me probably won't be best for you, there's only one way to be sure and that's try a variety and see. Some find a cheap dynamic mic better for them than an expensive condenser.
If you're trying to avoid buying an audio interface by going usb, I wouldn't be heading straight for the top end of the market in microphones.

Sweet tomorrow 4-6!
Ive noticed youve been down for the last week :( Man that sucks :( that has to be hard. A lot of areas around me were also affected. My sister on the other side of town lost power for nearly 2 days when a big oak tree fell down on some power lines. Came close to their house. Just hope everyone is safe.
yeah it has not been fun. i had to take my family to my parents' place for the last 5-6 days. luckily none of my family was hurt, and we didn't have any damage.

I guess they wanted to inconvenience them millions of subscribers just to delay the small minority of AT&T customers willing to jump ship
Its more likely an unscheduled outage, or problem with their system

When an app is rejected by Apple's App Store review process, do they tell you all the issues that's wrong with the app? Or do they stop after finding the first issue that's wrong?

I think once an internal SSD drive of 500GB capacity can be had for $150, the air will be the top mac laptop.

I was at work and watched it all unfold as soon as the TV coverage began. As an employee of Lockheed Martin, our entire company came to a stand-still as plane after plane crashed. Oddly enough, I was at the Pentagon on September 10, 2001 for a meeting with Navy brass.
I am still very thankful that I was able to leave DC the night before the attacks, as who knows where in the buildin I would have been when the plane crashed in DC.

I was getting ready to go to Chinatown (about 30 blocks away from WTC) to meet a Jewish friend from Virginia for his first authentic dim sum experience when I had the urge to check my email first. The New York Times web page loaded horribly slow, and pics didn't come up, but I made out the headline...
...I had no cable, so all television was out except for Channel 2 (CBS), whose antenna was at the Empire State Building. It stayed that way for over a month, I think.

im in the process of exporting the library now. I see it working.
Except the implications of deleting the images from the current projects would delete all the images from facebook and flickr?! Right?
I need to think of a way to like, 'close' and disconnect the facebook albums. Or some way to maintain them through 2 libraries?
Anyone?

Convenience is the key. Everyone carries their cell phone with them so it's way more convenient to pull it out and play a casual game than a separate portable game device.
I think it's going to kill devices like the DS as the games get better and the smart phone platforms more powerful. It's not going to happen tomorrow, but portable game systems days are numbered.
are the games getting better, though?

I bought my 13-inch MBA back in the winter and it's the best notebook I have ever used.
I say it's a notebook because it doesn't feel like a netbook. It's got a big trackpad, a full-size keyboard, a gorgeous high-DPI display, it's super thin. And it runs Logic Express smooth as silk. A netbook can't do those things.

Guys, i picked up the exact models that i wanted from target yesterday. Heard some resellers like Expercom are getting their new shpments today.. Might as well be an alternative if you cant stand in line for that long. Especially in this cold morning weather.
Just a thought......

It will be enough for the applications, PS CS5 takes a bit more than 1GB, LR takes about 100MB away.
But depending on the resolution and format (RAW or other) you take your photos in, and the amount of photos you take, 64GB might not be enough, unless you plan to use an external FW800 or USB 2.0 HDD.
to best utilize the ssd the programs must be installed on the SSD as well as putting the pictures on the SSD? or can the pictures be put in an external HDD?
