Sounds like the iPhone might actually be real! :D
...But the motive behind those kind words is still uncertain. Does Robert Dotson know about the iPhone, trying to convince Apple to make it a T-mobile exclusive, or have they already signed the contract, and these kind words towards Apple were more of a "thanks?"

would like to know that
once again i hate to burst your bubble but you definately won't see dual G4 powerbooks for heat reasons and definately wont see a superdrive until they change the size of the powerbook or release a slim dvd burner, both of which would take at least a few months to develop. Paris Powerbooks would steal the glory from the new top of the line powermac. apple wouldnt do that, look for new powerbooks after new powermacs actually come out.
listen folks the theory of apple releasing new computer hardware at every macworld has to end especially at the Tokyo and Paris shows. look for jaguar demos with ical and isync, and maybe another digital hub software update. maybe maybe a new LCD monitor or price drops on their LCD prices.

My roommate is taking a geography class in college right now. (Just an FYI, he is an older student in his 30's).
His teacher works for google on their maps. He has slipped in class several times saying Apple is working on putting GPS into the iPod. (He, the teacher, knows this because it is what he does full time for Google).
Anyway, this looks like the GPS in iPhoto is not related to the iPod, but eh you never know, iPhoto does work with the iPod in a way now as it is...

I'm pretty sure Jobsy hasn't done a "One More Thing" (which is annoying, cos even ppl who've noticed this still hope for them) since they did an event actually called "One More Thing" about 2 years ago. Last Macworld's keynote was just about the AppleTV (which we'd heard about 3 months previous as the iTV) and of course the iPhone, with no OMT whatsoever.
I think they scrapped it because internet hype and Thinksecret's rumour success rate meant that the "One More Thing" was usually leaked beforehand anyways, so when they did it, it was less of a nice surprise and more of a relief that the rumour sites hadn't gotten our hopes up about nothing.

I just installed a full screen protector for my iPad 2. The back turned out pretty well. I started out with the front and it seems to have lots of bubbles left.
I don't have the feeling these bubbles will disappear within the next 48 hours.
So I was wondering, how long can I wait to give it another try? As in take it off and install the same protector again? Cause I have a feeling I didn't use enough solution the first try?

Oh, the video iPod is coming! :D
But I'd be dissappointed if the circular control of the original iPod is missing.
the click wheel would presumably be a "virtual" one that appears on the screen.

I don't think a touch bezel would preclude the use of a touch screen also.

Is there going to be another iPod updater that will incorporate the features like the searching and fast scrolling letter label thing onto current 5G iPods? I hope so, that searching has been a feature calling from me for ages...:)
From my experience the "fast scrolling letter label thing" is in the 1.2 update but not the new search function.

I tried using iCal when I first switched over in '06. I integrated my Google calendar with it, but stopped using it because I often access my calendar in places other than my home computer. So I stuck with Google calendar and its "cloud" capabilities.
I know I can get MobileMe to access my iCal anywhere, but I rather not pay for a service when there's free (though shoddy like google cal) alternatives out there.
Two words for ya... Mobile Me. Sign up for the sixty day free trial, rumor has it that it's going to be free May 18 th or so. I use it for everything. Wednesday I left my company laptop at home, wasn't a big deal. All of my email accounts go through it, plus iDisk, iCal, and my address book were all accessible from another computer. I love how my iPad, iMac, and Winders laptop all stay in sync (to include bookmarks) effortlessly. Even if you don't get it free, retailers sell it at a discount.

Microsoft has announced that it has halted development on a universal version of VirtualPC.
Digg This (http://digg.com/apple/Microsoft_Officially_Kills_Virtual_PC)
I used to use VirtualPC mainly to take screenshots for various Flash tutorials and demos that I created. Then one day I was in a rush and I took all of my screenshots using Safari and boy did people notice. The couldn't believe how much clearer the screens were and then one of my friends came forwarded and pointed out that most screenshots we see are taken from Macs in the first place.
I soon stopped relying on VPC more and more. My IT department upgraded our e-mail servers so that I use either Mail or Entourage to see my e-mail and slowly I stopped using it completely.
Back when the G5's came out, I could upgrade my machine because there was no support for VPC on a G5 (that changed eventually), but the thought of not being able to run VPC on Mac Pro has never crossed my mind.
The need for VPC in the Mac/Intel age is gone and Microsoft is wise to move on.
Perhaps they're doing this because they can now eaisly create and port native Mac OS apps.
Whatever

Can anyone confirm the battery life is addressed?
Sure. After using it for no more than one minute. The battery life is far better!

Muscelnerd tweeted that all iPad 2 jailbreaks would have to be userland. Im glad comex found an exploit...and especially this fast.
He meant it'll have to be user land for awhile till they can scan the new boot rom for exploits. Because it's much quicker and easier to find a user land exploit then a boot rom exploit.

:( Wouldnt this mean they will try break 4.3.1 instead hence a longer wait? :( I hope not...
I sure hope not. Plus I updated to 4.3.1....I hope that wasnt a mistake.

The estate tax is a tax on the transfer of money from the estate of someone who died and their heirs. It is collected at the estate level for simplicity and to avoid requiring multiple heirs filing tax returns on the receipt of money.
That is NOT the accumulation of wealth that is being taxed, but the transfer.
So, since you were wrong there, care to try again?
(edit) Just so you don't think I'm being mean, there are some taxes on assets, namely real estate and in some states ad velorem taxes (but I'm not too familiar with that particular tax as it is not in my state).
Dont feel like googling... who pays the estate tax: does it come out of the estate before it is divided up or does the estate go to the heirs and then they pay the tax? Would there be a difference if it was done the other way ( I mean, gov still gets same cut, and heirs get same amount, right)? Also: I win the lottery and give my buddy a million dollars. Does he have to pay taxes on that million or do I have to pay taxes on that million and he gets it free and clear?

...something to help keep my vector skills sharp and maybe it will even yield some possible portfolio pieces?
Well, yeah, that too. Always good to keep things ticking over. Now and then, I do free/pro-bono work for small charities and non-profits in order to contribute something useful to communities, to keep me from becoming too stale, to network and build up recommendations etc. One or two pieces from that have ended up in various portfolios over the years as well.
If I'm doing work for free, then I'd rather spend it doing real-world exercises, working with briefs and clients towards a mutual goal, instead of doing stuff for myself.

Its the crapy drivers Apple has crippled an almost perfect laptop for a switcher or multi OS user. There are alternatives right now but they are complex hacks and best avoided in my opinion. I guess we will have to wait for the next rev. There is a new Bootcamp update.. but it does not mention a new Trackpad driver in the release notes.
You mean, an update newer than 3.2? Since I just got the Mac a week ago, the Snow Leopard DVD came with BootCamp 3.2. Are we expecting newer drivers soon?
