Who is Becca Fischer ???
I had never expected of this variable i.e., application received by , as a factor of influence in the GC approval process discussion. People have gone completely insane. :(

Opening this thread to see if USCIS is approving any EB2/EB3 applications after moving the dates in the July bulletin.
Please update this thread of your application has been approved or you know of someone who got approval.

Hi There,
My 485 application is pending at TSC on EB3 category, country of chargebility is Inida. Yesterday my PERM labor approved on EB2 category and need to apply 140 to recapture my own EB3 PD.
My employer will come under NSC. if the PD recaptured, I will be hardly one month away from my priority date to be current, as per the current visa bulletin dates.
So can you please provide some suggestion to which Service Center will be opt for filing EB2 140 now, in order for getting an optimal process for 140 and eventually 485?
Or does the service center really matters as it will take a very long time for me to get greened?
Thanks,
B+ve.
AFAIK, you are required to file these applications with the NSC. How and why cases get transferred to TSC is not known - mostly speculation.
This isn't legal advice - just based on information I have read up a while back - not sure if anything has changed in the last couple of years...

You always send 485/140 to the address shown in the form instructions.
Your 485/140 maybe processed by Nebraska/Texas Service centers.
Please do some reading in USCIS.gov
If i'm from Michigan, which processing center is handling my application for Green Card. Nebraska??????????????

Know your rights. Don't get scared unnecessarily. You should seek legal advice if you are threatened in any way. If you have not done anything illegal yourself don't be afraid.

USCIS has announced that it has redesigned the Permanent Resident Card (green card) with enhanced security features - and a "new" color. For many years the card has been white, pink before that, and green a long time ago.
The new security features are described as follows:
Secure optical media will store biometrics for rapid and reliable identification of the card holder. Holographic images, laser engraved fingerprints, and high resolution micro-images will make the card nearly impossible to reproduce. Tighter integration of the card design with personalized elements will make it difficult to alter the card if stolen. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) capability will allow Customs and Border Protection officers at ports of entry to read the card from a distance and compare it immediately to file data. Finally, a preprinted return address will enable the easy return of a lost card to USCIS.
Existing card holders don't need to do anything. They will get new cards as they apply for renewals or replacements in the normal course.

Can this be a problem if I should receive a RFE in the future for the still pending I-485 or eventually when I apply for citizenship?

Its only for people who are on some kind of visa. You don't qualify for MAVNI if you have a GreenCard and looking for quick Citizenship.

I have applied concurrently for green card under EB2 in August 2007.Received I140 approval and I485 is in process. Have applied for H1b extension and is pending. I am working for a consulting firm at present. I got job offer for a permanent position with the client that has same job duties and title. But the salary is about $20, 000 lower than what my consulting firm is paying now. My labor was applied with a higher salary. Can this lower salary and the difference create problems with the green card processing? Did anyone have any of this experience? Please help!!!

does that mean no hope left ? what r the other options ? isn't this whole process is for future employment and if i am licensed now than whats the problem in future employment i don't understand that part "future employment". i am on h1 now and if i will get my residency than i will be working at that position and i am licensed now. then why does the old date matters.
is it true guys ??
Because the LC is for a particular qualiication that needs to have happenned at that time - would it be ok if they calculate a new LC salary by adding the inflation?

Depends on where you are going and the route you are taking. You have to clarify transit visa issues. Many airlines will require a transit visa if you don't have the green card.

Hi psychman!
In a nutshell, you can't because WebClient cannot access the file system. One thing you can do is install a web server on the machine - IIS, Apache, etc. Would that be something you would be interested in doing?
Thanks,
Kirupa

Thanks a bunch for your response. I'm not planning on getting my GC. - will be leaving this country when my H1 term ends. my passport is expiring and i would really like a renewed passport with a valid correct name - just dont want to keep making mistakes over and over again. How difficult is it getting an I-797 after changing the name on the passport. should i file the "action on a petition (I-824?)" or amendment to H1?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

thanks for the answers! To clarify, yes I do have my notice. It's for a different location and time though. I've moved and just don't want to travel that far.
So if I just bring my notice and passport (and finger) to the Boston office, they'll let me do the fingerprint? Is it possible to be denied for these walk-ins? Boston isn't too busy on Friday mornings/afternoons, is it?

Is PD porting allowed without ever working for the future employer who got I-140 approved? Is this still possible if the future employer revokes the I-140 because employee does not intend to join them?

The job does not need to require Masters degree. Unlike Greencard filing under EB2 vs EB3 it is not any harder to get H1 under Masters quota, all you need is Masters from accredited univ. You need to figure out what the RFE is for.
